Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about Memmie.

Accounts, uploads, timelines, sharing, privacy and ownership—without the small print.

Timelines and Moments

Can one account have several timelines?

Yes. Your account starts with your own timeline. You can add separate timelines for every child, your partner, the family itself or an organisation.

Can the same Moment appear on several timelines?

Yes. A wedding, holiday or birthday can be connected to every relevant timeline without duplicating the album.

Can someone take ownership of a timeline I created for them?

Not yet. Timeline transfer is planned. Today, the person can create an account and be invited to the relevant Moments. Their own future uploads remain private unless shared.

Are events and albums the same thing?

In Memmie, a Moment is an event with an album behind it. It can have a title, story, date, place, type, people and media.

Uploads and organisation

How many files can I upload at once?

Up to 250 supported photos and videos per batch. Each file is limited to 1 GB during the pilot.

Which file types are supported?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, MP4, QuickTime and WebM are currently accepted.

Does Memmie automatically read dates and places?

Memmie attempts to suggest a capture date and GPS coordinates when that information is available. You remain responsible for reviewing and correcting it.

Does Memmie recognise faces?

No. People are tagged manually. Automatic facial recognition is postponed until a separate privacy and consent design is complete.

Sharing and privacy

Does sharing one Moment reveal my whole account?

No. The invitation applies to that selected Moment only. Other and future uploads remain private.

What can an invited person do?

A viewer can see the Moment, a contributor can also add their own files, and a manager receives broader album control.

Who owns contributed photos?

The person who uploads a file retains ownership of it. Sharing creates common event context; it does not transfer ownership.

Does Memmie sell photos or use them for advertising?

No. Memmie has no advertising and does not sell family media or use it to train general AI models.

Trial, storage and deletion

Is a credit card required for the trial?

No. The trial lasts 30 days and includes 2 GB.

Where are files stored?

Original files are stored privately in Cloudflare R2. PostgreSQL stores ownership and searchable information, not the media bytes.

Can I permanently delete my account?

Yes. Settings includes permanent account deletion, which removes the account records and stored files. The action cannot be undone.

Can I pay yet?

Paid plans are displayed, but Revolut payment activation is not live yet. The 30-day trial does not require payment details.
